Font search.

So much to do, so little interest. I actually am looking for some nice (free) icon fonts, so I can use some of the stock imagery I have saved! Does anybody have any recs?

Cf. comment below, if you want pointers to lists, I started my foray into the world of free fonts with the list that was posted in this comm a while back: 50 Best Free Fonts From 2009.

I can't find the site I used when I dled a lot of fonts, but here's a huge list of free fonts put together by a CS prof.

It helps to look for resources that were put together for people with Linux machines, when googling, because they are largely dependent on non-proprietary fonts.

I don't know if you've seen it, but [community profile] gimp_gate is also on delicious where I collect GIMP related resources. Here's a list with free font sites: http://delicious.com/gimpgate/fonts (see also the links listed in the community).

Oh, I forgot one thing: please add a subject line to your entries; it makes it much easier for people to see what your entry is about. Thanks! :)
